Abstracts

Share your work during Europe’s premier paediatric endocrine Meeting.

If your abstract is accepted as part of ESPE 2024, your work will be accessible to thousands of clinicians and researchers working in paediatric endocrinology.

Sharing an abstract also gives you the opportunity to get useful feedback, helping you to progress your work, and boost your networking and presentation skills.

Submission deadlines

Please note that abstracts are accepted on the understanding that the work has not been published or presented elsewhere.

Accepted abstracts will be presented at the event as a physical poster, an ePoster or as an oral presentation, and will be published online in Hormone Research in Paediatrics.

Submission criteria

  • Abstracts must be no longer than 400 words.
  • Do not include your title or author list in the body of the abstract as these will be added separately.
  • Abstracts and titles must be submitted in English.
  • Tables can be included in the abstract text but will be included in the word count.
  • Figures and images will not be accepted by the submission system.
  • ESPE do not accept encore abstracts – any abstract previously presented at another congress will need to include new data and be re-written for consideration for ESPE 2024.
  • At least one author from every accepted abstract must register to attend ESPE 2024.

Notification date

Authors will be informed of the outcome of their abstract submission in mid-July 2024.

Late breaking abstract submission notifications will be available in August 2024.

Registration

Registration is required for ALL meeting participants. Early Bird registration fees are offered at a discounted rate and ESPE Members benefit from reduced registration fees + “free” access to ESPE 2024 On-Demand.

Please register your interest for the 62nd Annual Meeting of the European Society for Pediatric Endocrinology (ESPE 2024).

With options to attend In-Person or On-demand, by registering your interest you will be the first to know when registration officially opens.

The ESPE 2024 meeting will have 3 categories of registration:

  1. In-Person: Attend ESPE 2024 In-Person only
  2. In-Person + Access to ESPE 2024 Virtual On-Demand: Attend ESPE 2024 In-person + access to ESPE Virtual On-Demand content.
    Please note: ESPE 2024 Virtual On-Demand access will be available “Free” for ESPE Members who register to attend ESPE 2024 In-Person.
  3. On-Demand: Access to ESPE 2024 On-demand platform only (after the event has taken place).

**Concession Fee: Participants applying for the Concession Fee for the ESPE 2024 meeting must be ESPE Members who are Nurses, Allied Health Care Professionals, Fellows in Training, Basic Scientists in Training, from middle or low income countries as defined by the World Bank or a Retired ESPE Member.

The Concessionary fee will not apply if the registration fee is being paid by the industry. The Concessionary fee will only apply if the registration fee is being paid by the participant or institution.

Please note: Delegates must be over the age of 18 to enter the exhibition hall.

Please note: there is a strict NO PHOTOGRAPHY policy at the ESPE 2024 Meeting. Delegates may be asked to leave if this is not adhered to.

Delegates who are unable to attend the ESPE 2024 Meeting in Liverpool, UK will be able to register to view the full meeting programme On-Demand following the physical event taking place. You will be sent a link to access the ESPE On-Demand platform following the In-Person meeting taking place on 16-18 November 2024 in Liverpool, including all presentations which are approved by speakers to publish On-Demand.

Venue

ESPE 2024 will take place in Liverpool, England at the ACC, an interconnected arena, convention and exhibition centre beautifully positioned on the banks of Liverpool’s waterfront.


How to get there

Train

Avanti West Coast operates hourly, direct services from London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street taking just over 2 hours.

Other national, regional and local rail services also operate into Liverpool Lime Street. We recommend Trainline for the best planning website.

ACC Liverpool is a 20-minute walk from Lime Street or a short taxi ride. Alternatively, you can change at Lime Street onto the Merseyrail underground Wirral Line Trains, traveling into James Street station, which is a 10-minute walk away. If you’re traveling from outside Merseyside, you can catch an underground to James Street Station from Lime Street station, inclusive of the cost of your ticket.

Merseyrail links to plan your journey here. The CityLink bus service also runs a circular route around the city and stops at both Liverpool Lime Street and ACC Liverpool.

Bus and coach

ACC Liverpool is just 5 minutes’ walk from the Liverpool ONE retail development bus station, which also has long distance coach services.

Car

From the Wirral:

From the Wirral, Wales and the M53, leave the motorway M53 junction at Junction 3 signposted Birkhead and follow the A552 for the Birkenhead (Queensway) Tunnel and Liverpool City Centre.

The Kings Dock Car Park and all other on-site parking is signposted ‘Waterfront’ on the ‘available spaces’ signs that are found across the city.

Approaching from the South, leave the M6 at junction 21A and take the M62 to Liverpool. At the end of the M62 follow signs for Liverpool City Centre along Edge Lane, picking up and following signs for The Waterfront.

From the north:

From the north, leave the M6 at junction 26 and follow signs for M58 Liverpool. Follow to the end of the M58 and then take signs for A59 Liverpool. Continue to follow Liverpool City Centre until picking up signs for the Waterfront.

From the south:

Approaching from the south, leave the M6 at junction 21A and take the M62 to Liverpool. At the end of the M62 follow signs for Liverpool City Centre along Edge Lane, picking up and following signs for the Waterfront.

Walking and cycling

A number of cycle routes enable cyclists to easily get around Liverpool and visit ACC Liverpool by bicycle. You can find out more about the routes available from Liverpool City Council’s website.

Voi Scooters, e-scooters and e-bike schemes in Liverpool are all part of a joint initiative run by Voi, Liverpool City Council and Liverpool City Region Combined Authority. Walking in Liverpool city centre is an enjoyable experience, not least because it’s the best way to experience the life, architecture and friendly nature of its people. Pedestrianised areas around Liverpool ONE link to the wide Waterfront boulevard, the docks and ACC Liverpool.

Plane

Liverpool John Lennon Airport:
– 25-minute drive/taxi ride from the ACC
– International airport with flights from all across Europe and beyond
– The 500 bus from the airport goes to the ACC every 30 minutes

Manchester airport:
– 50-minute drive/taxi ride from the ACC
– International airport with flights from all across Europe and beyond
– National Express coach 170 takes just under 1.5 hours
– Multiple train links from the airport to Liverpool (please use Trainline for latest and quickest routes)
